faq: IS RUSSIA SAFE COUNTRY?

Yes Indeed! Russia is a civilized and safe country and not a third-world country. Russian police officers are helpful and friendly and some of them have a basic knowledge of English.

The most visited cities in Russia Moscow, St.Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Irkutsk has a special "Tourist Police corps" to keep you safe. But still, where there are tourists there are pickpockets. This happens in every major European city. Below is a list of basic precautions that you should take when visiting big cities anywhere in the world:

  • Do not carry your passport with you. We recommend that you leave your passport at the hotel locked in a safe if available.
  • Always carry a copy of your passport and visa with you.
  • Be careful with your money and credit cards. Separate them into different pockets.
